P4 Math Carnival WAS FUN!
really fun! =D
Well, for the p4 Math Carnival, I was in charge of registration. =) That is the nicest job ever! It allows me to know which school is coming which school is under which group! hahas. Interacts with people alot. =) However, the main point is that I can join any group I want after the registration time and do the math carnival activities! The MOE officers at the registration booth were REALLY friendly as well! =D I didnt even know that they were MOE officers until the second day of the carnival! hahas! Well, for this carnival, I joined Michelle's group. So, her group had two student leaders! =D
The most boring part of the carnival was having to do the same activities for 4 times! ARGH. X)
Michelle's group is Blue 2 and, for this carnival, groups blue 1 - 5 are doing the exact same things and moving from one place to another at the same time. So, the other student leaders in this "bigger" group are Qian Cheng, Luxi, David and other girl =). So, the carnival was carried out for 4 times(north, south, east, west zone), 2 per day, different school each time (obviously). We have two activites - Skyline in Shenton Way and Math in Biology. The shenton way one was about having being able to see how many buildings from one view, you know the one which need the blocks? ya. The math in Biology is about Fibonacci numbers and Golden Ratio in the Nature. Well, only until then that I know what are Fibonacci numbers! wahahas. X)
For the first session, Hui Shi and I didnt know that we can actually go and join groups after the registration hours and we simply stayed at the booth for hours! =(
For the second session, we got permission from one of the MOE officers to leave the booth after the registration hours and I joined Michelle's group in the hall and Huishi joined Kiona. That's the first time that I took a group. hahas. They were from some schools that I couldn't remember la. hahas! I mixed around well with the p4 students! WHEE! =D That was so fun. hahas! It's so sad to see them leave at the end of the carnival! Aww.
For the third session, it was an all boys group from Ai Tong Primary. Okay, although this is an all boys group, I must say that this is the best group ever out of the four! =D They so fun to play with la! hahahas! Also, because for the Shenton activity, they were the only group that actually had discussed and showed teamwork although some of them doesn't know each other and they are also the SMARTEST group! Although we did like the same activities, they were able to do something different and that makes the whole thing more challenging. hahas!
When we go for the bio activity, it was so so so so so fun la! Before Ms Tan starts, they keep asking what's "Fibonaki" numbers! hahas! so cute la! they dont know how to pronouce fibonacci. =D they also ask what's the pattern in the fibonacci number, it feels so great to be explaining everything! wahaha! =D Then there's two guys called Trevor and Edric in the group, they are the ones sitting closest to me so I told them that Ms Tan will be asking which country is Fibonacci from and I told them that he's from Italy, asking them to answer later. hahas!
Well, when the activity starts, I was suppose to help Michelle's group but Qian Cheng went to find this missing boy so I helped him to take his group for that activity. His group is so so so so cute also! =D They were also very fun to do the activity with. It's so nice to be teaching them what to do la! =D Then they kept calling me teacher when I told them that I'm not a teacher for thousands of times! Then they finally stopped calling me teacher, instead, they started calling me " Teacher's assistant" *FAINT* I was like O_O
For this group, it feels even sadder to see them leave after the carnival! AWW. =( The carnival was so fun la! By the way, when I asked them if they like the school, all of them answered yes profusely and they gave so many Strongly Agree in the survey form! WOOHOO. =D
Here's two "other comments" that I saw in two of the survey forms (remembered clearly) :
"I hope there's more of this kind of carnivals!"
"The problems are really fun to solve and the harder it is, the more fun it is to solve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
=D how nice can these comments be? By the way, for the second comment, that person really did so ALOT of exclaimation marks! =D
For the fourth and last session, its kinda boring. Its also an all boys group but all of them are so QUIET! and they dont talk when we do the shenton activity and that makes the whole thing so boring, esp after I have been doing it for 3 times! =( Qian Cheng and I eventually started juggling the blocks for fun.
The bio activity was even more boring. =(((
At the end of the carnival, not many gave a strongly agree in the survey form. OF COURSE LA, they dont talk how to have fun and they dont have fun how to give strongly agree? =(
After all, the Math Carnival is still REALLY NICE! =D
Hmms, by the way, I dont think I'm not taking school bus in July anymore, Stacy and Qian Cheng make the taking the train to school sound so nice! =D

HELLO PEOPLE! (:
went for the P4 math carnival briefing today. You know WHAT? I handed in the form and my name's not on the list. (...) I was actually suppose to take care of some groups but now i'm doing the registeration. But.But.But. It's better to do registration. =D Because after doing the registration in the morning, i can just join any groups i want and go around the school for activities with them. yay! So, I'm joining Michelle's group, because she's in groups 1-5 which I wanted to join. hahas.
The camp is starting tomorrow and I have to leave house by 6am because I have to reach by 7:30am! aw. I had never left house so early in YEARS. X)
By the way, after we left school, we met a group of students doing Amazing Race at JEC. They asked Huishi and me for a school badge. Huishi generously gave them hers. wahaha. We helped them to win! Then we saw another group. They were asking Charmaine's "gang" for school badge. So I told them that we had already gave our school badge to another group. They went " ARGGGGHHH." *haha* So I even more generously gave them my school badge. wahaha.
Ohya, after I gave Qian Cheng his souvenior from Hong Kong, he said " VERY NICE EH". yay! See, i'm so good at buying souveniors for people. hahas! X) *jk jk*
Hmms, have to go and do project now. byes!

HEY.
Today is rather accomplishing! Not because I solved another really hard math problem but because I learnt a new song on piano myself (as in, without a teacher.) ! hahas! =D
That's Ji Mo De Ji Jie by David Tao. :) A very nice song. hahas. Played through the songs I've learnt last time for quite a number of times also. Esp Yue Guang, really nice to play with! ^.^
Ohyes, forgot to mention one thing, I booked the piano classroom with Janice today from the Ocean Butterflies Music that's why I still get to play piano on fridays although there's no lesson for two weeks. Well, that holiday for OB teachers. =(
P/S. I think there's something wrong with the new blogger right? I always have to type the Word Verification for like two times after I have entered my blog entry! They always say that I have entered the wrong thing but I checked for like so many times... *Smoke appears on the head*

OHMYGOD!
Did you people see the news about the cable car in hongkong dropped down from the height of 54 metres? That Geng Ping 360?!?! You know what? I just took that about 1 week ago when I just in Hong Kong and now they say one of the cable cars dropped down. Its super scary. =(
The whole journey on that cable car takes about 20-30 minutes and its super high! I still remember there's this plane which eventually flew at the same height as our cable car. O_O
Well, that length of time and that height and...the cable car dropped.
I can't believe I just took that cable car. Nevermind. Never again am I gonna take that cable car (obvious!) Nobody will... X)

HELLO!
whee.whee.whee! I am so happy, yesterday's events are fantastic!
I reached Plaza Singapura evnet venue at 10:30am when the autograph session starts only at 6:30pm because I had to do the JJFC Charity Project. :)
Well, the moment I reached, I saw all the committee members! Everyone was like "EHH? SU CHANG! I THOUGHT YOU WERE IN CHINA?!" Well, I was supposed to. My mum decided not to go to China in the end so, I managed to go for the events. =D I think I had repeated that conversation for dozens of times yesterday. hahas!
All of us started with the setting up of railings for the autograph session and also the stall for the sale of the "Legend of the Sea" Movie Singles. We took a long time to decide the amount of space we need for 50-70 JJFC members. Well, Ocean Butterflies agreed to reserve the front rows for JJFC. Hence, we had to set up railings and paste papers on it that says " Reserved for JJFC(SG)".
After the railings were done, we set up the stall for the sale of movie singles as the 1000 copies had arrived. Next, Min Jun paired us up and separated us into morning and afternoon shift. I was in the morning shift of course but I continued in the afternoon shift, so I took two shifts that day. from 11:20am to 4:09pm. I remembered the time really clearly. I was the first on list to register. My partner was Janice of course and our donation bag serial number was 1872. Took a bag of roses that costed $2 each and 5 angels at $10 each.
Before we set off, Ivy gave us our Committee Tags which (for me) says:
JJFC(SG) COMMITTEE
SU CHANG
WEBSITE TEAM
Both of us were really afraid to approach people for donations at first but we decided that we have to do it and we can't go back with an empty bag. X) So, I approached the first person and said " Hello! I am from the Singapore JJFC and I am raising funds for the children society..." before I finished, that person said "No,sorry." and walked away. Well, we weren't disunheartened since that's the first person. The second one was really nice! The minute I mentioned about Children's Society, she gave me 2 dollars and took a rose from me. She even asked us if we go to church and its good that we help children. =)
Well, that marks a very good start!
We continued on asking for donations and it was normal, some people very generous and donated while some people rejected immediately. It was 12 noon and we went to eat lunch at BK. While going there, we met Sophie, so we went there together. hahas! While eating, I collected my 3 tickets for the "Legend of the Sea" Gala Premiere from Ivy. Liu Yang joined me half way when I was eating.
After that, we went to the Scrapbook shop to buy the Shadow Box for the scrapbook page Janice and I had made for JJ. It was really nice! =D
Well, then we set off again to sell the roses and angels. This time, some people gave us excuses like "We had to rush" when they were obviously strolling, some even said " I will come back to you later." Hais. There were times when we sold like more than 10 roses and sometimes when we can't even sell 1 rose in 45 minutes! There were these two lady who took 20 minutes to choose the roses they like. In the end, together, they bought 5 roses and we got another 11 dollars! One of them gave 1 dollar extra. :)
These two roses were really funny! This is roughly the Convo.
Me: These roses were all handmade by us.
The ladies: Then you make us one now
But there's no materials now.
Then undo the roses and fold it again.
Okay sure! (then I wanted to take the rose from her and unfold it.)
She then laughed and started to choose the roses. I think she's just testing if we were lying just to let her buy the rose. Well, there's this time when one of them asked " I can buy 2 roses at 5 dollars right?" I said " Of course you can." Another one said, " No! 2 roses are for 10 dollars!" Liu Yang and I then corrected her that two roses are for 4 dollars. Both of them smiled. Well, this is obvious that they are testing if we are honest with them. =D
Hmms, after selling roses for like 30 minutes, there's this couple who walked pass us and we asked them to buy one. The guy said to the girl " I buy the roses and you will hold it." and through the whole time when they were choosing the roses, the guy keep saying to the girl," You hold arh! you hold arh!" WAHAHAS!
Also, there's this really big guy who bought 2 roses from us. When we look at him again from far, we bursted into laughter! Can you actually imagine a guy holding 2 roses and holding a cigarette in another hand?! hahahahas!
Well, I saw Mr Chua that day and he bought two roses from me. YAY! =D
Okay, there is also this European Guy who approached us in Chinese, saying "Ni hao!" I can't really figure out what he was saying at the moment(he was talking to me). Janice hinted me that he was saying ni hao. Then I was like " OH! ni hao! ni hao!" hahas! He was REALLY tall. Then he said " ni hao ma?" so I said " oh, wo hen hao!" WAHAHAS! the conversation is funny. =)
Then, he questioned me with all sorts of questions in English like " What are you doing?" " How will the funds help the children?" " What will we do with the money?" So, I answered each and every question as detailed as I can and of course, in a polite manner, smiling. In the end, he took out his wallet and guess what? He eventually gave me a $50 note! All the 3 of us thanked him profusely, and wanted to give him a few angels as return. He insisted that wont take them, smiled and left.
After another 2 hours, the weather is getting really hot and we can't take it any more so we went back and signed out at 4.09pm.
Sophie was still selling the roses under the hot sun that time, she was selling it on her own and she did not give up until the last minute. =)
After this, it really shows how kind and generous people can be, also, the will of helping others.
JJFC hit more than $1000 that day.
